Types of Power Banks

Power banks are categorized in terms of fashion, built-in or detached recharge line, those with and those without LED, those with solar chargers and those without, smart power banks, and quick charge categories.

These are explained below:

1. Fashion, sizes and use: Power banks come in many fashions, styles and sizes from the general to promotional power banks. Well-designed promotional power banks serve the same uses as promotional USB drives and personalised USB sticks gift. They can be used for marketing and publicity.

However, there might be additional cost to print custom logos and words. In terms of size, the types are endless.

2. Recharge line built-in or detached: Some types of power banks come with built-in recharge lines while others have detached lines. Detached lines may obviously get lost and force you to look for an extra.

Of course, other attachments to the charger include USB charging ports or USB ports that can be used to supply power to other devices externally. That's where a promotional power bank is much more useful than promotional USB drives and personalized USB sticks gifts.

3. WitH or without LED: LED is one of the technologies that help save a lot of power and having a power bank with LED can make work and travel carefree. You won't need an additional lighting source. There lighting is convenient even in low light.

4. Solar charging capability: Solar units help generate power from sunlight. This type of promotional power banks is helpful in camping trips when the users do not have access to electricity. You still keep the equipment charged for emergencies such as recharging your phone and providing lighting.

It is also very helpful when power is not reliable or during blackouts.

5. Smart power banks: Modern power banks are much smarter than just incorporating a lighting source and USB charging port. For instance, some will recognize your mobile devices and are compatible with specific phones. Good chargers will recognize the voltage needed for your phone and adjust automatically to charge it in full speed while avoiding overcharge. In fact, smart tech helps avoid over-currents or current charges and short-circuits that might harm your device.

That said, some do have quick charge tech. The five types of quick charge solutions in the market today include Qualcomm Quick Charge, MTK Pump Express, TI MaxCharge, USB 3.1 PD and OPPO VOOC Flash Charge.  Qualcomm Quick Charge is the most popular. With that, you manage less time of charging your promotional power bank because it is 75% faster. With these, a 15 minutes charge can last up to eight hours on an average phone. Although there is Quick Charge 2.0 from Qualcomm Technologies, the most efficient and best is Quick Charge 3.0 that refuels devices up to four times faster than conventional charging tech.

It charges twice faster than Quick Charge 1.0 and 8 percent more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0.
Other types include rugged power banks that resist damage when it breaks, high capacities and car Jumper power banks that can jump start cars.
